G4S are looking for an Investigator from either a UK Policing or Military background. You will need to have extensive experience of working on numerous major Investigations. The role will mainly be based in Wiltshire starting on Monday 2nd October 2012.




Working in a blended Investigative team, you will be supporting the Investigation team in pursuing criminal investigations in support of the Service Justice System. You will interview witnesses, record their testimony and assist with developing investigation strategies and with the conduct of interviews after caution. Cases may vary covering volume, serious and major crime.

You will be required to provide statements of evidence and interview summaries where necessary, where required, attend and give evidence in judicial proceedings.

Other responsibilities will include gathering all suitable evidence and intelligence to support the case. Identify and pursue lines of enquiry, create and produce case papers for court, handling of exhibits and disclosure and liaison between other Government Organisations.

It is essential that you hold valid Security Check (SC) Clearance as a minimum.

Able to demonstrate and evidence knowledge and experience of the following:

§  Police and Criminal Evidence Act (1984) - PACE84
§  Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 - CPIA96
§  Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP) Level 2 or equivalent
§  Recently retired/ex Detective with initial CID Training, working within Major and Serious Crime Teams
§  Good experience and understanding of MIRSAP (Major Incident Room Standard Administration Procedures) and MIM (Murder Investigation Manual)
§  Understanding of Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 - RIPA00
§  Solid experience in preparation of case papers
§  Handled exhibits and disclosure, trained in Health and Safety and Diversity
§  Tiered victim, witness and suspect interview trained
